Experience Family Fun at Hastings Snowshoe Hustle CANCELLED DUE TO WEATHER

If you have never experienced snowshoeing before, the Hastings Snowshoe Hustle, is a great place to get started! This event promises your entire family a day of fun in the snow, so strap on those snowshoes and get out and enjoy all that winter has to offer.

Now in its second year, the Hastings Snowshoe Hustle will be taking place on Sunday, March 10 at Cedar Ridge Camp at 57 Cemetery Road in McArthurs Mills, just 15 minutes east of Bancroft off Hwy 28 East.

The event begins at 10 a.m. and both 1 km and 4.5 km Family Fun Snowshoe Races start at 11 a.m. Thanks to Trailhead in Belleville, there will be a family prize for each of the first-place finishers in the two races.

All that fresh air is bound to make the family hungry! Free hot dogs, coffee and hot chocolate will warm your bellies before you try some of the other activities planned for the day. These include skating, tobogganing and crafts. You can also enjoy some time spent meeting new friends around the campfire. Activities wrap up at 3 p.m.  Thanks to Joe Favot at Foodland in Bancroft for providing the hot dogs, condiments and hot chocolate.

All ages are welcome at this family-friendly event. Admission is one non-perishable food item per person which will benefit the North Hastings Community Cupboard. (foodbank)

Participants are welcome to use the camp’s supply of toboggans or bring your own. Please bring your own skates and snowshoes.

March 10 is the day for the entire family to get out from behind their computer screens and discover the beauty and all the wintertime fun that can be had here in beautiful North Hastings.
