November is Tall Pines Rally time in North Hastings!

Dig out your long underwear, a warm coat, toque and mittens because it will soon be time for the 51st running of the Lincoln Electric Rally of the Tall Pines in Bancroft!

This popular event taking place on Nov. 25/26, is part of three series – the Canadian Rally Championship, Ontario Provincial Rally Championship and Eastern Canada Rally Championship.

The best part about Tall Pines is that you never know what the weather will be like. Sometimes, drivers have dry roads, while other years the roads may be a sheet of ice or banked with snow. That is what makes each year’s event so exciting, and a little different each time.

There are specific viewing areas for spectators where you can see the cars take sharp turns and then gather up speed on the straight-away. The noise of the cars, the other spectators cheering for a favourite car, sipping a hot drink to keep your toes warm as the drivers race by, that is what makes the Tall Pines such a great experience.

For those who like a little bit of extra comfort and the very best view, organizers are again offering a VIP program for spectators. There are only 60 spots so check out www.tallpinesrally.com  for more information as it becomes available.

If you want to get to do more than just watch, there is a way to experience the rally from the inside. Organizers are still looking for some additional volunteers to help out. Registration for volunteer workers is available under the volunteer tab on the website.

If you are planning to stay overnight, the advice is to book ahead.
